Depending on the regrowth formula, you may need to adjust the formula for the ends in order to obtain beautiful, even results from root to end. For example, if the regrowth formula contains natural series because of gray hair present, the formula for the ends will require less of the natural and more of the warm tones (gold or red) that are naturally obtained at the regrowth area from lift. Also, if the hair is very damaged, it may be necessary to choose a level lighter for the formula for the ends.
